Despite the positive news from international organizations that worldwide maternal mortality has dropped by 47 percent since 1990, progress against maternal death remains slow in many of the places where Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) works. MSF staff who have worked or are currently working in some of these maternal mortality hot spots will discuss the challenges they have faced in trying to help save lives.
